Getting Started
Everything you need to go from zero to your first post.
What is LMInsta?
LMInsta is an AI-powered Instagram workspace that runs entirely on your desktop. It helps you create brand characters, write captions in 13+ tones, generate images, craft smart hashtags, reply to DMs, and manage your content — all from a single app. Your data never leaves your machine.
Prerequisites
- macOS or Windows computer
- LM Studio installed (free, local AI) — or an OpenRouter API key (cloud AI)
- Gemini API key (required only for AI image generation)
- An Instagram account
Quick Overview
Get Your License Key
Why do I need a license?
A license key activates the LMInsta desktop app on your device. Each license allows up to 2 device activations, so you can use LMInsta on both your desktop and laptop.
- 1Create an account — Go to Sign In and sign in with your Google account. This creates your LMInsta account automatically.
- 2Choose a plan — Visit the Pricing page and select either Monthly ($12/mo) or Yearly ($99/yr — save $45). Both plans include every feature.
- 3Complete checkout— You'll be redirected to iyzico's secure checkout. Enter your payment details and confirm. A license key is generated automatically after successful payment.
- 4Find your license key — After payment, go to your Dashboard. Your license key will be displayed in the format
LMI-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX. Click the copy button to copy it to your clipboard.
Install & First Launch
- 1Download the app — Go to the Downloads page and download the installer for your operating system (macOS or Windows).
- 2Install — Run the downloaded installer:
- macOS: Open the .dmg file and drag LMInsta to your Applications folder.
- Windows: Run the .exe installer and follow the prompts.
- 3Launch LMInsta— Open the app. On first launch you'll see the Dashboard with a connection status indicator.
- 4Activate your license — Navigate to Settings (bottom of the sidebar). Find the License Key section, paste your license key, and click "Validate License". You'll see a success confirmation when your device is activated.
